Success is the destination one can only reach after a lot of hard work as there is no substitute for it. Some of the renowned and profitable ventures in the world were established by students.

Google began its journey at the Stanford campus by doctoral students Larry Page and Sergey Brin as a part of their computer science project. Similarly, Microsoft was founded by Bill Gates in his dorm room at Harvard. Facebook by Mark Zuckerberg is the latest addition to the list of students who made it to the list of corporate big shots.

It does not matter if you achieve like the aforementioned bigwigs or not, what matters is your aim to work hard. A lot of fresh graduates from various academic disciplines are venturing to earn supplement income or establish themselves as young entrepreneurs. Although, well-educated and well-trained, some of these young entrepreneurs sometimes go off track. Perhaps, they lack some basic elements of success. Let’s learn what those success garnering elements are:

1. Ascertain your goals to know what you aspire for

Before you start your business, make sure that you know what you want. There will be occasions when you will need to dedicate most of your time to the business. Ask yourself if you are ready to wave a red flag to other activities. Identify your strengths and priorities against everything else so you know exactly what you aspire for!

2. Be radical but follow the rules

Young entrepreneurs are creative and energetic. So, make the best out of it and never be afraid to try something new and innovative. But never experiment with existing market factors and products, or craft an off the wall product. However, you must adhere to tax laws and all legal administrative requirements as well.

3. Find a mentor

Join hands with a business leader or a local entrepreneur who can be a source of inspiration for you. It is very important to seek advice from veterans. They can help you through thick and thin during the initial challenges and risks.

4. NEVER quit learning – re-open your books

A successful entrepreneur never stops learning! And that’s true. Use it to your advantage and reopen your books to revise the forgotten lessons. Surprisingly, you will be able to comprehend and grasp knowledge easily and be able to relate it to your experience. Do not restrict your potential here only; go back to your teachers and ask them questions. You will find immense knowledge and a great mentor in them now. Be well read on your area of business and look out for quality online and print resources.

5. DON’T let that mental block overpower your strengths!

Let face it, not all of us can quickly scale the mountains as those internet billionaires and overnight achievers. It can be very discouraging for you when you fail to do achieve like Sergey Brin and Larry Page. Just forget about achievements and work towards delivering. Like the Nike slogan: “Just Do It”!
